Support Our Work
Oxfordshire Family Support Network is a small local charity that provides information, advice and support to families of people with learning disabilities across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas.
We may be small, but our work makes a big difference to families who trust us to give them the specialist support they need to navigate complex and daunting education, health and social care and systems to get good care for their family member.
As a networking organisation working across Oxfordshire, we want to reach out to and involve as many family carers as possible. There are lots of different ways to be involved with us.
Fundraise
Fundraising enables us to provide essential support to family carers who provide life long care to their relative with a learning disability and who from their child’s diagnosis have to navigate their way through a number of complex and challenging systems.
Ways you can help fundraise for us may include
- Nominate us as a charity to benefit from a fundraising event – for example a school fete or a quiz night.
- Do a sponsored walk, run or other challenge – big or small
- Become a corporate sponsor. Consider nominating us as your Charity of the Year, Give as You Earn Schemes for staff payroll giving or run fund raising events across the organisation.
What ever activity, challenge or event you decide to do and however much you raise will make a huge difference to the support we can provide the families we work with.

Donate
All donations, big or small help us to continue to support family carers to empower them with the knowledge they need to provide a fulfilling life for their relative.
There are a number of ways you can make a donation.
- The easiest way is to make a donation online via PayPal
- Set up a regular donation via Standing Order. Please email us for details.
- If you shop online, you can sign up for Easyfundraising and nominate Oxfordshire Family Support Network as your charity of choice without it costing you anything.
- Request donations instead of a birthday or Christmas gift
- Leave a legacy in your will. Please email us for details

Volunteer
We offer a number of volunteer opportunities
Students
If you are a student studying a course in the social care or health sector, we can offer work experience that will provide valuable insight in to working with families who have a relative with a learning disability. This may involve meeting with families, organising and attending information events and some admin work.
Family Carers
We sometimes need volunteers to assist us with planning and running information events. Tasks may include setting up events, contacting venues and professionals to confirm information and attending events and/or training to help OxFSN staff.
Fundraising
We are always looking at ways to fundraise and would welcome any volunteers who would be interested in helping with fundraising ideas.
