Inspiring, informing and involving families of people with learning disabilities

Supporting Family Carers

OxFSN offers support to family carers who have a relative with a learning disability, or a earning disability and autism. We are here for you from the early years, through the transition into adulthood, and as you plan ahead for the future as an older carer.

As family carers ourselves, we understand how challenging it can be to navigate the systems that are meant to support us but often make life feel even more complicated. That’s why we provide practical, accessible support in a variety of ways.

Our Website

We recommend starting with our website. Wherever you are on your journey, you’ll find a wide range of information organised by age group to help you quickly locate what’s relevant to you and your family.

There is also a dedicated resources section featuring recordings and information from previous online Q&A sessions, along with practical tips to help you complete common forms and applications.

Events

Throughout the year, we run free information events, both online and in person. These sessions cover key topics that family carers need to understand as they support their relative through different life stages.

You can find details of upcoming events on our website or by joining our mailing list.

Telephone or In-Person Support

If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, or you would prefer to speak to someone directly, please email us at info@oxfsn.org.uk and a member of our Family Support Team will get in touch.

As a small charity, we may not always be able to respond immediately, but we will reply as soon as we can.
